Vicki Ellis – 1st Flute
Vicki began playing flute at the age of 11 and achieved her Grade 8 in 2005. She went on to win a music scholarship at Bournemouth University where she played Principal Flute in the University Orchestra, performing several concerts alongside the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra. She also played Saxophone in the University Big Band, performing in France, Spain and Belgium. She then went on to study Music and the University of Chichester, and since graduating in 2010 she has built her career as a peripatetic woodwind and piano teacher in several schools around Norfolk. Currently she plays with:
The Mozart Orchestra – Flute
Norwich City Concert Band – Flute
Judith Bell – 1st Clarinet
Judith is accomplished on the clarient, flute, saxophone and curling tongs. She plays for several local orchestras, shows and bands. During the day she is Operations Manager for a large Norfolk-based charity. She loves Norfolk, sunrises, chocolate, pizza and shoes (and music, of course!).
Alastair Watson – Bass Clarinet
Alastair took up the clarinet aged 11 and continued until the end of university, however he then stopped playing for 25 years to pursue a career in medicine. He is now a Professor of Medicine and Gastroenterologist at the University of East Anglia and the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital. He resumed playing the clarinet again ten years ago under the patient tuition of Andrew Roberts and Sarah Miller, and is now a more accomplished player than ever before. He also plays the Eb clarinet which adds sparkle to the orchestra, and the bass clarinet which adds depth.
